This tradition started back in 2010 when I decided to ask a group of students to join me for a practice on Christmas Eve, I wasn't sure who would turn up at 8am but the studio was packed - such a great energy in the room and the perfect way to begin your Christmas holidays. We've carried on this tradition every year except 2020 (for obvious reasons).
Everyone practises together, it's mainly ashtanga but any type of practice is fine, cheat sheets are allowed so don't worry if you don't know the sequence, you can always follow someone. There are no expectations, it's not too serious, and has a lovely fun and supportive atmosphere. There is no charge but all donations will be given to charity, we usually raise quite a good amount.
Yoga is followed by mince pies, chat and a well deserved breakfast at a local cafe. This year I've decided to include a trip up to the local dam for a quick brisk icy dip for those of you who love that sort of thing or feel willing enough to brave it. Hand holding, hot chocolate and more mince pies on hand for afterwards.
