Summer is the perfect time to get outdoors and throw yourself into your yoga practice with a weekend of yoga and adventure - doing as much or as little as you like. We're based on the shores of Rydal Water in the southern Lake District. Staying in the beautiful 17th century Nab Cottage looking out across Rydal Water in South Lakes. The yoga is run in a beautifully converted barn with a wood floor and heated up to a nice toasty temperature by the huge log burner.

Cosy and comfortable twin or double rooms are all individually furnished. Delicious vegetarian food is prepared on-site using all fresh and, if possible, local ingredients. To relax, there is a hot tub overlooking Rydal Water and a sauna as well as cosy open fires in the living room and lots of hidden corners in the garden where you can wrap up in a blanket and read your book or sit by a fire on a star lit evening.

Each day starts with yoga - you can choose between Mysore style self practice for those who want to take their practice that little bit further or a led class for those who prefer their practice to be teacher led.

The days vary but on both days there will be the opportunity to go rock climbing with Mike, my rock climbing instructor. Come along as a complete beginner or to improve your existing skills. Mike is very skilled, relaxed and patient and has all the equipment that you will need.

As well as climbing there will be guided hikes -  we'll include walking in silence and barefoot- on both days, plenty of opportunity to go wild swimming. Maybe you want to spend time alone, going for a wander or a run or head out for a big mountain day (the Fairfield Horseshoe is right behind the cottage) or find a friend to go with (many lifelong firnedships have started on my retreats). There are two canoes if you fancy getting out on to the lake. If you just want to do yoga and then chill out all day feel free to stop doing and just 'be'. If you prefer to take it easy you can gaze out at the lake have a wander around Grasmere and try out the famous gingerbread or have a short wander - there is so much to explore from the front door.

Afternoon workshops vary depending on the needs of the group but for the most part they will consist of gentle stretching out, maybe some breath work and lots of much needed deep rest. I always encourage journaling and spending some time thinking about your own feelings and needs through writing and answering questions.

Open to people with all levels of experience from complete beginners to those with a regular committed practice. Rock climbing is also for those of all different experiences - don't worry if you are a complete beginner, full guidance and equipment will be given.
