Morning 8.15 - 10.15 am

The morning will start with a hybrid led / Mysore style class which will make the class accessible to all levels from beginners to advanced students.

I will lead the first part of the class, the sun salutations and standing postures - setting the rhythm for the practice and ensuring that all students can be included. We will then move into the self practice part of the class. Beginners will be guided through the first few postures and the end of the sequence - their first introduction to the self practice method. . Experienced students will carry on with their own practice with guidance and gentle hands on adjustments.

I teach in an open minded, light hearted way. My style is alignment based whilst still acknowledging the classic Ashtanga method. I'm more than happy for students to use props as need be and cheat sheets.

Afternoon Workshop - 12 - 3 pm

The focus in the afternoon session will be on balance - perfect for this time of year, at the autumn equinox. Looking at the balance between strength and flexibility, effort and surrender, grounding and lightness, apana and prana and how these come into play throughout the practice. There will be a focus on the stabilising actions in the standing postures, taking these actions into more challenging asanas so that we can experience both the effects of grounding and stability with lightness, lift and space.

There will be something for everyone whatever your level and experience, come with an open mind and lots of questions. this is an opportunity for you to take your practice that bit further. I aim to keep the workshop light hearted, fun and informative.

After a long day of physical practice, conversation and taking in new information we need some time of deep rest to just stop and to allow our bodies to process all this information. I will end the day with yoga nidra - deep rest. this will be followed by tea and cake and tiem for questions.
