Each year since 2010 a group of yoga students have cometogether to practice on Christams Eve - a chance for us all to come together and the perfect way to start the Christmas period. We start at 8am as I know that many of you have busy days ahead. A cosy warm studio decorated with candles and holly. If you don't know the practice you can bring a cheat sheet or copy a friend or come along and do a different practice - it doesn't matter, this is all about coming together. Followed by mince pies and coffee and then all heading off for breakfast together. If you're up for it there will also be a post breakfast icy swim! No charge for the practice but I am collectiing donations for the St Augustine's centre in Halifax who work to support asylum seekers
Last year we practised on the winter solstice just after the sun has risen. This year we will also celebrate mid winter (a day early as solstice is on the 22nd this year) For me this is a really special time of year, a time to take a break from everything, to reflect on the year that's passed and set some intentions for the year ahead. I'll fill the studio with greenery and candles, starting the practice mid morning, a bit of space at the beginning of the day. We will collect donations for St Augustine's in this class as well.
